Mission Statement

Rejoyce the Journey provides safe, affordable recovery housing and supportive community environments for men and women seeking freedom from substance use disorders. Our mission is to help individuals establish long-term recovery, rebuild their lives, and achieve independent living through stability, accountability, and hope.

Katy Smith

President / Executive Director

Katy is a pastor with a passion for building a joyful recovery community. Sober since May 25, 2014, she owns Promised Land Properties, is currently studying to become a Registered Addiction Counselor (RAC), and earned an Associate's Degree in Kingdom Studies for Five Fold Ministry.

Jonathan Smith

Vice President

Jonathan is passionate about helping people pursue recovery and their walk with the Lord with wholehearted dedication. He is the owner of After Hours Plumbing, LLC, and has been sober since April 20, 2015.

Roy Baas, D.Div., L.A.C., C.C.S., AADC, ICAADC, CCDP-D

Licensed Addiction Counselor

Roy serves as Chairman of the ADRA Board and Lead Director of Addiction Treatment at RTJ. With 46 years devoted to recovery, faith, and personal growth — including nine years on the Louisiana State Commission for Addiction Disorders — he is passionate about sharing his journey with others.

Patricia Baas

Support Staff

Patricia, Support Staff Director at RTJ, brings years of experience in behavioral health and a passion for seeing people healed — body, soul, and spirit. She has worked as a Practical Nurse, as a BSW for mental health and chemical addictions, and is earning her Master's Degree in Theological Studies.

Janie Harris

Spiritual Advisor / Assistant

Janie is a certified deliverance minister with Vision Life Ministries and serves as Vice President of the Ouachita Parish Women's Republican Club and on the Louisiana Republican State Central Committee. She has a heart to see people freed from their past and empowered to reach their full potential.
